They are made of light and little diamond shapes. You will never find them, because they are not there—and that is exactly why they are free. Their plant-animal anatomies seem to have grown from the lotus field's own water, wind and roots: an imagined endemic ecology.
Lotus, insect, amphibian, snake and water forms shift with the field's weather and roots; their geometries emerge through an organic design process of faceting, branching, symmetry, repetition and controlled mutation. These creatures have no fixed habitat: they live in changing relations to water, poles, each other and the viewer—an imagined ecology, not a record of real species.
An imagined Jiaoling endemic with a lotus head, stained-glass dragonfly wings and a bright birdlike body. It displays itself on the pillars, then retreats before admiration becomes possession. Theatrically narcissistic yet afraid of completion, it courts reflections, never nests and leaves each dance unfinished. Small groups form temporary display circles, competing through colour without physical dominance.
A green crystal beetle folded into a pink lotus, with diamond feelers, transparent wings and root-tentacles. It reads T-bar vibrations through its feet. Hypervigilant and shy, it freezes when watched, then mirrors the viewer's blink as greeting and defense. Loose groups pass warnings as tiny tremors but never attack. Their compulsion is to guard a possibility without turning it into a plan.
A faceted pink lotus bell trails glass tentacles through air as if the field were underwater. At night it flashes with the pillars, writing unreadable messages. Compulsive communication meets radical aphasia: it must transmit but refuses stable meaning. Glimmers form brief luminous schools, synchronize for seconds, then scatter before rhythm becomes instruction.
An emerald axolotl-snake lives at the waterline, half body and half optical echo. Its two faces remember different directions. Avoidant and mildly dissociative, it vanishes just as recognition becomes certainty. Pairs never fully coincide; they touch only through water rings. Their social function is to keep maps incomplete and imagined infrastructure reversible.
Create a full-body, standalone 3D concept render of the Sitter-Beetle, an imaginary organism endemic to a humid lotus-field microclimate. Hybrid anatomy: emerald crystal beetle head and thorax, pink faceted lotus flower forming the abdomen, two pairs of translucent green stained-glass wings, six delicate jointed insect legs adapted to perch on a T-shaped pole, two long segmented diamond feelers that curve like scorpion tails, and fine root-like tentacles hanging beneath the flower. Materials: cut emerald, rose crystal, clear glass, tiny diamond facets, subtle living tissue only at the joints. Pose: horizontally balanced, alert but shy, wings half-open, legs gripping an invisible narrow bar; complete silhouette visible, no cropping. Mood: beautiful, uncanny, patient, hypervigilant; neither aggressive nor cute. Palette: French Pink #FE74A0, deep emerald green, clear diamond highlights. Neutral transparent or pure white background, soft studio light, no text, no symbols, no decorative environment, no cultural motifs.
Look at this lotus pond. Now look beneath it. Down there is an entire world: a glowing machine, gentle and strange animals, roots that speak to one another.
We imagined all of it, and we will never build it.
Standing right here, right now, you can imagine anything you want beneath these waters. Anything at all. It will not come true, and it does not need to. Just imagine it. Let it remain in the realm of dreams.
Nothing you imagine here ever has to become reality.
Today, almost everything we imagine eventually gets built. A thought appears, and within minutes someone begins making it. Our imagination has quietly turned into a factory.
PURE switches that factory off for a while.
Here, imagination is not the first step toward building something.
Here, imagination is everything.
The pink T-shaped pillars are the only things here that actually exist. They are assembled from a few simple shapes, and their roots end where our imagination begins.
Everything else—the machines, the creatures, the light—is underwater, in your mind, or online.
Point your phone at this field and you will catch a glimpse of what we dreamed.
Then raise your head and dream your own dream.
The T is a minimal junction: one vertical line rises from the imagined underground system, while one horizontal line distributes attention across the field. It resembles an antenna, root diagram, support and unfinished letter without resolving into any one of them.
The seven poles use an irregular weighted Voronoi logic: each pole behaves like a seed point, while the changing spaces between them generate the real figure. In pop terms: seven pink beats, different heights, one syncopated rhythm. With every new viewpoint the sequence recomposes, turning geometry into a score the creatures can orbit but never complete.

UBERMORGEN (超明天) is a two-generational, multidiverse, female-led Vienna-based art team: Billie Bernhard, lizvlx, Lola Bernhard and Luzius Bernhard. Working across net art, conceptual art, media hacking, installations, online actionism, AI systems and speculative theory, they use the infrastructures of contemporary power as artistic material.
From Vote-Auction and the EKMRZ trilogy to UNINVITED and The Silver Singularity, their projects locate art in the seams where systems reveal their contradictions. In PURE, they imagine an entire living infrastructure and leave it unbuilt.
